WARMAdvantage FAQs

Note: Overall, all program instructions, terms and conditions are noted on the front page of the application and/or on the website.

How long does it take to get my rebate check?

Please allow up to 120 days from the date New Jersey's Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) receives all required information to process your rebate.  Please know at any time during the process, if NJCEP finds that any information is missing or incorrect, you will be notified with a letter along with instructions.

If I applied for both the WARMAdvantage and COOLAdvantage programs, can I expect one rebate check?

No.  All rebates are processed separately.  Please expect a separate check from each program.  They will most likely be sent at different times.

What is meant by ENERGY STAR qualification and what is an AHRI number? How do I obtain the AHRI number?

The efficiency level standards for our rebates are based on the ENERGY STAR® qualification and/or the Air-conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certified performance criteria.  These ratings are found on the ENERGY STAR website and/or the AHRI website. If necessary, please submit a copy of the AHRI certificate rating sheet with your application and place the certificate number in the appropriate field on the application.  You may wish to ask your contractor for assistance.

I just received a letter advising of missing or incorrect information.  How do I provide you with the appropriate information?

Kindly write the proper information on the letter and fax or mail it back to the fax/address on the letter.  We are only able to take limited information over the phone.

What is defined as a proper proof or purchase/receipt?

Proper proof or purchase must be legible.  On contractor letterhead, please include the folllowing:

  • The homeowners name and address (same as on application)
  • Purchase date
  • Note as paid or in the process of payment installations (i.e. a proposal or quote does not indicate proof of purchase unless indicating paid or payments being made)
  • Itemized account of what was purchased (should not be a lump sum dollar amount spent at the store)
